Sarah Walsh focuses her practice in the areas of white collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation.  

Sarah's clients consist of organizations, professionals and private individuals including those in health care, manufacturing and financial services.  She has represented clients in state and federal grand jury investigations, federal sentencing hearings, federal civil proceedings, and various administrative law matters.
Representative Cases:
• Represented executives, managers and sales representatives of Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies in connection with numerous federal investigations involving alleged "off-label" marketing activities.

• Represented corporations and professionals in connection with DOJ and SEC investigations concerning alleged stock-option backdating transactions.

• Represented a large, privately held professional firm in all aspects of federal and state investigations with a focus on electronic discovery issues in response to federal, state and administrative subpoenas.

• Represented New England based manufacturing companies in connection with ongoing DOJ investigations and parallel civil proceedings.

• Successfully defended local university students and prevented issuance of criminal complaints and obtained dismissal of all criminal charges.

• Provided guidance to corporations in implementing compliance programs focused on federal, state, and local licensure issues.
Prior to joining LibbyHoopes, Sarah served as a Legislative Aide with the Massachusetts House of Representatives where she worked on a wide range of constituent issues, drafted legislation and assisted with the preparation of the Commonwealth's annual budget. Before studying law, she represented high-technology clients, including several Fortune 100 companies, in the public relations industry with firms in New York and Boston.

Sarah graduated from Suffolk University Law School, with honors, in 2005. During law school, she clerked for a criminal law chambers in London, England.  
In 2009, Sarah was selected to participate in the Boston Bar Association's Public Interest Leadership Program (PILP), a 12 month leadership development program for lawyers in their first ten years of practice. She was named a Rising Star--in the area of white collar criminal defense--from 2009 through 2011 in New England Super Lawyers, a joint publication of Boston Magazine and Law & Politics.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Boston Dance Alliance.

Sarah is admitted to the bars of Massachusetts and United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. She is an active member of the American, Boston and Women's Bar Association.  Sarah co-authored an article with Frank A. Libby, Jr. entitled DOJ and SEC (Parallel) Investigations: Dangerous Intersections for a seminar on SEC proceedings hosted by the Boston Bar Association.
